Every mother has a different story ...and with support...a silver lining

Becoming a new parent is one of the most significant transitions in life and most new parents find it challenging at some point. Many adjustments have to be made as you navigate your way through parenthood.

It's a myth that everything is easy and comes to us all innately after birth!

BUILDING A TRIBE

Mothers can struggle with the many textbook parenting strategies and multiple lists of should and shouldn't and are often mastering some of the tasks of parenting in isolation. There is a prevalence of perinatal mood disorders when a mother is left unsupported. Many women today are more isolated from family and lack a support network.

Dads/partners are often provider and carer of both a vulnerable mother and newborn. Partners are often fatigued and stressed, needing support themselves.

Let's get back To basics !!!

Many cultures value the 'birth of the mother' in the postpartum period by wrapping the mother in support and restorative practices. Join in on the renaissance by ensuring mothers are nurtured. Pomegranate Postnatal Wellness forms part of a mother's cheer squad as she masters the tasks of parenting, promoting mothers rest for approximately 6 weeks post birth. This allows the necessary time for a new mother [or a 2nd or 3rd time mother] to establish feeding, recover and restore physically post birth and provide the sacred window for bonding with her newborn. This might sound unachievable but adding some practical supports and practices into your daily routine can bring the wonders and joy back into mothering. A mother who has a had a difficult pregnancy or birth will need additional support to find her mothering mojo! - she cannot give from a depleted source!

A warm dollop of eastern and ancient style nurture and support can better meet the needs of modern postpartum women.

My 'Pomegranate Postnatal' passion came about after working in the family and parenting sector for many years and wanting to add to 'MY MIX'. In some of my work, I am often greeted by a teary mother without a support network longing to hear she is doing ok. After a chat and taking the time to listen to 'her story', the mood  lifts.....following some normalising, feeding and settling tips and reassurance she is more than meeting the needs of her baby....But what I kept thinking was... who was there just for her? ....what else can I offer? . Hence the beginnings of Pomegranate Postnatal Wellness allowing me to develop individual packages and programs to 'serve' the mother by adding some nurturing and holisitc practices to My Mix!

I currently service the Macedon Ranges, Goldfields, Hepburn, Ballarat, Bendigo and North West of Melbourne Metro
